Oktav Tumbel was born in Banyuwangi, Indonesia. His passion for music, especially piano, began early in life all of which he learnt through autodidact. Oktav’s father enrolled him in Yudi Barlean’s private piano class in Surabaya to develop his son’s talent even further. Eventually, Oktav moved to Jakarta to pursue his music career and started to teach private piano class. In addition, he also enrolled in Yamaha Music School and won the National Yamaha Music School competition for free composition category.

During his musical career, Oktav has produced four instrumental albums which features his original music composition composed during a decade span of his musical journey. Oktav had a chance to collaborate and share the stage with many well known musicians and singers such as Vina Panduwinata, Tulus, Sean Idol, Aminoto Kosin and many more. In 2016, he formed Oktav Tumbel & Friends. Besides being the founder of Oktav Entertainment, he is also a musical director, songwriter, arranger and producer. To broaden his knowledge on music cinematography, he is currently pursuing a study in the movie scoring field.
